FORD&CHING feature find with Willard Ford: GENEVA WORLDRADIO

Picture 2

This months FORD&CHING featured find with Willard Ford is with the GENEVA WorldRadio. I was excited to see the Geneva WorldRadio when the first product pictures were released a few months ago. As pictured it was sleek, modern, and
stylish. Unaware of its dimensions, I imagined walking down the street with the radio perched on my shoulder like Radio Raheem (does that date me?). Once I had it in hand I was surprised by a number of notable things. First, it’s compact. So compact you can take it anywhere. Second, the anodized finish distinguishes the World Radio from anything else in Geneva’s line. And, third, this thing is easy and intuitive to operate, interfacing seamlessly via Bluetooth with all my playlists and Internet-based music, news, talk radio, and other programs. Only two knobs to control volume, the tuner, and on/off, and another couple of virtual buttons on the front are for the Bluetooth connection, levels, clock, source, and alarm. It’s
brilliantly simple and easy to use right out of the box. It can be plugged in or powered by its surprisingly small, rechargeable, and removable battery. The black version is by far my favorite. The anodizing makes it look flat and sinister. It’s murdered out. It’s as successful a design exercise as I’ve seen in ten years in this business. But it’s definitely not a boom box. Geneva is bringing that out soon. You can go HERE to get one.
